Scott Lynch – Bio

Born on the Gold Coast, Hotels have been a huge part of Lynch’s family for many years, and his path was always destined to be in tourism. Starting his career in Housekeeping, working in hotels has taken Lynch across Australia in a variety of roles and locations, including a three year stint in New Zealand as General Manager with Rydges Hotels.

Having worked in all hotel departments, including the Kitchen, Lynch’s experience is one of on-the job training and learning from mistakes, but always doing it with a smile. Working with a variety of mentors and industry leaders, Lynch has developed a strong passion for service, and loves being able to pass on his knowledge to his teams to continue to develop new leaders in the industry.

“I was fortunate enough to be given a job opportunity when I first started, without having any prior qualifications or experience. Because of this, I find that the ‘hire for attitude and train for skill’ formula works best when hiring new team members. We pride ourselves on being able to serve our guests and give them a great experience from the moment they walk in the front door, and having the right attitude is just as important as possessing excellent communication skills.

With over 25 years’ industry experience, Scott is well placed to develop and mentor future leaders and to promote the growth of the industry within Australia.
